I am a 36-year-old recent survivor of rape, currently engaged in a prolonged legal battle to hold the perpetrator accountable and prevent him from harming other women. This nearly three-year struggle for justice has been profoundly challenging and draining, both emotionally and financially. The process has exhausted me beyond measure, and I have already spent thousands on physical and mental health care, alternative treatments, relocating states to a safer environment, and ongoing legal fees. Despite these trials, my primary focus has been to simply survive the legal process, heal, and maintain hope of eventually fulfilling my dream of becoming a mother.

As a former Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery nurse, my life has been dedicated to caring for others. Maternity care has always been especially close to my heart. However, given my current circumstances, I have had to transition from patient care to administrative healthcare to manage the demands of the legal process. My continuous 16 years and counting of service in the military provides me health insurance. While it covers many things, it does not include fertility treatments, placing me in a difficult situation.

My fertility specialists have advised that this is the final year to successfully freeze quality eggs due to my advanced maternal age, the fact that I only have one ovary (the other was removed due to a teratoma in my early 20s), and the ongoing trauma. Since 2019 the number of follicles I have left and AMH levels have dropped dramatically. I have been postponing the egg freezing process all year due to the financial burden and stress of my legal battle, but time is running out.

I am reaching out for help and support to cover the costs of the recommended two rounds of egg freezing, anesthesia, and necessary fertility medications, totaling approximately $28,110. The first cycle is $14,400 and the second cycle is $13,710. This is a sum I cannot manage alone at this time. Any contribution you can provide would be incredibly valuable, allowing me to focus on both my legal fight and maintain hope for my future as a strong, loving, and compassionate mother.
